Song Spotlight: Paramore - Use Somebody (cover)

As a guy who doesn't really like the Kings of Leon I just so happen to like a few of their tunes quite a bit. I posted a few weeks ago about how much I liked Meagan Washington's version of "King of the Rodeo" which she does with the Bamboos. I I also really enjoy the KOL song "Use Somebody" which was released as a single late last year. Even though their version is one of my favorite tunes going right now, I also happen to enjoy hearing great songs from a different voice. Kind of like when all the artists in the 60's used to cover Dylan: same words/different voice.

So I particularlly enjoyed this version of Use Somebody done by fellow Nashville group Paramore. Maybe It's time I give King of Leon another shot, after all, Australia loves the shit out of them as evidenced by spots 1, 3, 24 and 70 on last year's Hot 100.

If you are one of the 8 people that hasn't heard the song at some point this year, here are the lyrics:

I’ve been roaming around, I was looking down at all I see
Painted faces fill the places I can’t reach
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

Someone like you and all you know and how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you

Off in the night while you live it up I’m off to sleep
waging wars to shake the poet and the beat
I hope it’s gonna make you notice
I hope it’s gonna make you notice

Someone like me
Someone like me
Someone like me, somebody

I’m ready now. I’m ready now
I’m ready now. I’m ready now
I’m ready now. I’m ready now
I’m ready now.

Someone like you. Somebody
Someone like you. Somebody
Someone like you. Somebody

I’ve been roaming around, I was looking down at all I see.
